Now in its eighth edition, the "FORMAGGI&CONSUMI AWARDS" event turns the spotlight every year on the efforts of companies in the food industry that stand out for their inventive marketing, communication and product innovation activities. With its "Sushi di Capra" product, Chiodo Formaggi - a company based outside Crema in Northern Italy - won the award for best product innovation. A fresh goat's cheese that comes in three exclusive, refined flavour combinations: strawberries and poppy seeds; cherries with a glazed ginger core; and white and black sesame seeds with a spinach powder centre. An exclusive interpretation by Chiodo Formaggi that has successfully combined Italian dairy tradition with the ancient skilled art of Asian cuisine. A panel of buyers from the big supermarket and chain store names, in addition to representatives of the traditional retail industry, chefs and industry experts, headed by Francesco Pugliese, managing director of Conad (Italy's national retailers association), judged the event, declaring Chiodo Formaggi's exclusive creation the winner. The award ceremony was held on the 23rd of April in the prestigious, atmosphere-filled Montanelli, Lanfranchi and Bocconi rooms housed in Milan's impressive Circolo della Stampa building.
